Black blundered a piece on move 6 and timed out. Must have been a cheater.

If this guy's rating was true, wouldn't he be able to beat Carlsen, Anand, Quachita, etc., easily?
Dee
Oh but I think rybka has a fair chance of beating Carlsen or Anand.

Actually Rybka would draw alot against Carlsen (and maybe win a couple and lose a couple) based on the way Carlsen is playing..
Ouachita isnt a cheater.. He been number 1 for like 8 months as far as i can remember... wouldnt the staff be on his back the whole time? look at his games, detecting if he uses an engine or not? you gotta think about these things man.. A couple of 2500's got banned while Ouachita is still not banned.. therefore they checked Ouachita's games and so far they can tell he was NOT using an engine..
But tbh, Carlsen would beat Ouachita.., well any top 10 GM as far as i can tell.
When I was playing on Yahoo a couple of years ago, I believe that I once ran into a player that Yahoo had rated at 5,000. I checked his stats and they said that he had played over 15,000 games and won every one! Needless, to say, when I saw that, I realized that ratings do not tell the whole story of a player's strength. If this guy's rating was true, wouldn't he be able to beat Carlsen, Anand, Quachita, etc., easily?

It's a obvious reason for people like him playing on Yahoo instead of the real chess sites. He wouldn't win all his games there.
Yes, nobody is that good, If you take a look at GM games on ICC, many of them have a relative low rating (5min - You can't chose your opponents)
It makes me happy to watch them play, they are humans after all.
deep blue actually had a rating of more than 3000... also i thing rybka's rating is also close to the line.
Actually, no chess engine has a rating. Having an official rating would require the engines to compete, along with human players, in official tournaments. As for now, humans play against computers only on the internet, and there it is not called "competition" but cheating.
It is widely believed that no human GM is able to defeat Rybka without odds. I think that chess.com member JRLOK played some odds games with Rybka, although I am not sure
Computers have played side-by-side in rated tournaments with humans, even recently, but they do not recieve FIDE ratings. I believe the participants have to agree to games with the computer beforehand.
A performance rating can be generated for the computer player.
Pocket Fritz 3 was able to beat the humans:

...but Shredder 9 was doing the same in 2005:

The average time per move of 3 minutes means this guy never slept. And he won only 13 games. Probably all of them were against the same person, maybe even against himself on a different account. And it was all in 1 day.

my stats for average time per move is 3 days11 mins.. i sleep though, and my rating is realtively low..
NEWSFLASH: speculation is growing today about the validity of ouachta's actual rating, after it was revealed by a secret source that his 3 previous losses all occurred during a powercut in his home state. Sources close to ouachita are still trying to explain how their hero's rating could plummet by 1000 points in playing strength simply because there was no electric available?..... one particular source is quoted as saying ''Yeah it was really strange, one minute he was mating people in 12, saccing pieces left right and centre, totally dominating everyone he was playing, then 3 minutes into the powercut he actually phoned me asking did i know how to castle???'' :)
I am sorry, but I must shoot down the idea of a power cut. The three losses occurred on three different dates, and by resignation, not time.
At Stan's NetChess, I think ratings are a little inflated. There are 3 guys with 3000+ ratings
The top guy is 101-0-0, rated 3652
#2 is 140-0-4, rated 3268
#3 is 23-5-1, rated 3054
I'd be curious to see how the top chess.com players would fare against them.
Stan's Net Chess!? As if that is credible... .
Serbian - You're correct, I have been investigated more than both of the Shuttle Disasters combined. If I can't beat Rybka with her limited to 2 or 3 min/move, I sure as hell can't beat Carlsen in otb or correspondence play.
Yeah sorry about that, dont take it offensivly :P Im just being realistic.
