When you lose you can see what you did wrong if you resign you could have made a comeback

they the same thing vro.

same result, different time.

better to resign, you save time.

whether that be minutes or seconds up to you.

Resigning is the proper way for chess players to acknowledge defeat. This requires some humility and maturity. It is the dignified and honourable way to lose if and when you do not wish to continue.

Abandoning the game is a cowardly and childish way to quit which is sadly commonplace in internet games.

Running time out is worse and should result in banishment to a pool where you can only play with other nasty, dirty, shameful individuals with no morals or ethics.

I meant resign when you know you will lose, like queen king vs. rook king

If you lose you have a chance at stalemate or something like that otherwise you'd just lose anyways

resigning is the chess equivalent of "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

I have made 30 draws and 10 wins from games I haven't resigned which is not many but it's 40 games less lost than if I had just resigned.

Getting checkmated loses more points, technically. The more you wait, the more your rating deviation increases, so your rating becomes more volatile.

either you abandon, lose or resign, the total elo you lost is the same.

but in my opinion abandon is the worst, like in real-life, you just played the middlegame and then leave the chess board bcz you are losing not saying any word to your opponent, it is probably the most disrespectful

resign is worse than losing the game, bcz many gm said that sometimes when ur in a losing position, u should just keep playing bcz who knows if the game would end in stalemate or you might win or not.

The question shouldn't be is it better to lose or resign. The question should be why resign? Not long ago Magnus arrived 43 seconds late for his 5 minute blitz game. He played behind the clock in an inferior rook & bishop vs. rook & rook endgame then he won. He was losing then turned it all around. You don't learn endgame hitting resign.
