is it normal to have a far higher standard rating than a blitz or bullet elo?

im a good 400 points ahead of my blitz and bullet ratings in standard chess, why would this be?

From own experience I can say that it is because you make stupid moves when you hurry. It is quit obvious I think :) Also, on chess.com blitz and bullet may lag which makes you loose instantly. Try out chesscube.com

Perhaps you don't use your time effectively?

I think it has to do with the fact that you try to win on time in blitz & bullet and also use other cheap tactics. Just look at what is written in your profile!

In online chess, blitz and bullet ratings are the only real ratings. When I come to assess a someones ability in chess online, I definitely look at his blitz and bullet ratings rather than standard.

All ratings are real.
