There was an OCD group once. But many of them kept trying to checkmate 15 times.Laughing

Well, I don't have contamination ocd.  My ocd centers on needing things perfectly alligned and not wanting people to touch my stuff.  And thinking that will not stop.  For example, I have a chess set and if anyone touches one of the pieces even accidently, I know and I have to put it back exactly the way it's supposed to be or I get anxious.  Samw with everything in my house, pretty much.  There are many manifestations and I read the other day that it should not be called a disorder because it is more of a symptom.  I have heard if you follow a gluten free diet that helps.  I like gluten though lol.

you sound like me....since childhood I have to have things neat and straight and of course people touching my stuff drives me crazy but of course friends think it is funny and touch everything. I have learned to live with it after I had kids. No way to stay sane and have straight house with kids. OCD and chess....seems to be common...and like you my brain never stops or relaxes

It's sometimes hard to play blitz when you have to cope with obsessions

Would that mean having to wash hands after each move (you know, touching chess pieces that others have touched before, and thus are contaminated)? No hand shale before or after the game?

No OCD is a more serious disease it means the person suffers from a perpetual cycle of obsession which is caused by a certain disconnectivity in the brain As much as i can remember and this results in anxiety the c stand for compulsion which are actions people do to avoid this anxiety this cycle is what makes it a disorder but dont get me wrong its a very serious illness which is misunderstood because of the media. You can search online for more info
