Is there any table that shows relation between action and player points?

I would really like to know how much points you earn for each action you do on chess.com.

Therefore I wonder if anybody knows if  there is some kind of table showing how much user points you get from difrent kinds of actions.

posting in forums(either group or public) and posting/commenting on blogs are each one point.  I heard that writing articles is a little more, like 2 points I think?  I'm not the one really to be answering this but that is what I heard if it helps.

There are a lot of people who get much points if you look at the members menue and I think you have to know what to do and how to do it to be able to get your own points high. I

It would be  fun to know wich the incentives are here at chess.com to make the users to take a more active part in the fun things that are created and shared at this great site.

there are people on this thing that have over 70000 points, but that is obviously over the course of their membership here. Some people are members of hundreds of groups, and each group has a forum, so they get points a day up into the high double digits, plus whatever topics or blogs they post. But I think with a topic like this a Staff'r will come around and answer it eventually.  I myself usually post a lot in a day, making it to the Top 10 active member list every once in a while. But people that post hundreds of comments a day pretty much stay at the top 3 or so.

EDIT: the points you get don't mean a darn thing, except for maybe bragging rights, that's about it

Thanks Mark.

Do you know if every kind of post has the same value?

In such a case its easy to get high points if you just post short sentenses al the time. Does difrent kind of post give more or less points. For instanse if I post a diagram of a chessgame i played, is it worth the same as if I would post a 5 pages post about my choice of defence against the Queensgambit?

a single comment or post, no matter how long it is or what is in it, is a point.

You can put only a few words in each post and get a point. It's worth the same as a very long multi-paragraph post. No post is worth more than any others, it doesn't matter what it's content is  Smile

Is it possible to loose points?

Lets say that you write a post about how you think a player did a bad mistake when making some move. You post it, get the point. Then you realize that youre analysis was wrong so you go and delete the post.

Does this mean that I loose my point or do Is still keep it?

Avatar of ChessMarkstheSpot

good question. That I don't know. I've never deleted a comment before  LOL.  It's better to edit the post anyway if you realize you posted something wrong. I edit my posts, never delete them

If you ever reach MINUS 1000 points, you have to give chess.com a T-shirt.

LOL..I found that it is easier to get on this thing when there is a schoolday NOT on the weekends. I went from #4 on the Top 10 on a Friday active ALL day to down to Page 7 or 8 the next day when I woke up. I could not believe it.

Where do you find this list?

Avatar of ChessMarkstheSpot

Kacparov - it seems that it's always you and I going at it for the top spot in the USCL group. It's amusing to me that I had the top spot for the last few days and then today you're all over the place. It just amazes me  Smile
