I really dislike them, I think they're distracting. Is there any way to turn them off? Or is there any other online chess website where those animatios aren't present?
Just to clarify: I'm talking about the 'death' and 'start' animations, not the animated movement of pieces, I know how to turn those off.
If you don't like the change you can disable the effects by turning Pre/post Game Board Animations off in the Board and Pieces settings.

It should do everything but the Confetti on a win. That's a separate setting currently only available within Play by clicking the settings icon next to the board and toggling off Win Celebration
