This has gone down hill fast. I don’t know about the rest of you but I play chess for fun. I couldn’t care less what my rating is. The only purpose if really serves for me is matching me up in competitive games.

You still don't get it. There is Chess. Then, there is "Rapid Chess", Blitz Chess" "Carrot Chess", Rabbit Chess", "Tea Chess" etc. Only Chess is Chess, the rest is only sub products and chocolate medals.

Now that chess.com has seemingly crossed the toxicity levels of Chernobyl, I guess we all should take certain precautions before accessing these forums to protect ourselves from these lethal amounts of toxicity.

Wow, there is a lot going around here. First, when I think about toxic behavior, is rage quitting by people who clearly are falling behind. However, I am a newbie. Is this a thing too when you play with higher ELO players?
What do you mean? The rules are exactly the same as OTB chess. It's not different compared to the chess we play on this site, it's just a longer time control, such as a daily control. The FIDE has even created titles for players that used to play by mail (real mail), because it's chess.

No, the rules are not exactly the same, see what I wrote at #51, and there are more differences. You should take a read of the FIDE rules actually.
