I would join.  I do most things (everyday things) left handed, such as eat, write and shoot.  It is akward playing in a tournament if the clock is on my right, as I move with my left........

I know in uscf tournaments whoever has black does get to chose which side the clock is on.This actually makes it easy for both players whenever a left-handed player plays a right handed player since when the left handed player puts it on his left side it will of course be on the right side for his opponent.(The same of course is true when the right handed player puts it on his right which results on it being on the left-handed players left.) I'm also left handed btw.

btw Bobby Fischer was left-handed. I am not sure about Kasparov i have read conflicting statements about this with him.

I am a left-handed chess player, and would like to complain about clocks being positioned on the right-hand side of the board in OTB games.  I for one prefer to make my moves with my left hand and this becomes rather awkward!

On a less ranting-about-nothing note, if a left-handed chess group gets founded I'll join it.

if you play black you can choose the side which the clock will be

about dasrkar's comment the rules state that which every hand you move the pieces with is the same hand you have to hit the clock with. I have seen that rule violated in uscf tournaments without any note of it, i am not sure what the penalty is though....? (maybe like many rules its up to the tournament director)

btw if a left handed club is formed i would be interested in it as well.

So Left Handed Chess players will almost always be able to get the clock on their preferred side ( except when playing another left hander ). Seems like Chess is a lot like Bowling in that Left Handedness is an advantage.

I know you will tell me their opponents have the clock on their preferred side as well.

The difference is consistancy I suppose. Left Handers get to have almost all their games with the clock on the left side, while right handers have to learn to play with the clock on both sides.
