GUYS! Listen up! We have so many toxic 2000+ players and really we have to stop. We all know how to stop. This was another stop the toxicity forum and I'm with him too. We can't have elitism on this site, that'll be miserable. We want to have new players enjoy their experience too. I understand cause maybe of COVID-19. Let's pray for a better year next year!

I might report this to chess.com, that people are turning things into debate

It's not a matter of having a ton of toxic 2000+ players, it's a matter of people being toxic in general - low rated players, high rated players, it's just the latter that gets noticed more often.

What's wrong with debates?

Avatar of kaipingorkai

Well, I don't think debates is a peaceful topic to talk about or do. For all players, technically yeah.

Debates are a good thing.  The exchange of ideas leads to a better understanding of the topic under discussion.  Plus, people may learn something.

Please just report and end these debates, and more importantly, your incessant posts about them.

Some of the stronger players here are indeed harsh, but their comments are usually sincerely intended to help players learn and grow.  Many Experts and Masters have little tolerance for poor play and unsound openings.  Some of them have strong feelings about openings which, though they have no definitive refutation, have a poor reputation.

I think all chess players want to play better, and likewise I think nearly all chess players above the 1600 level want to see more opponents rise to their own level.

It is very common for players to top out between 1000 and 1400, and breaking above that level often requires unlearning things which, though they've served us well against weaker opponents, aren't exactly correct.

This site could use more civility, but the answer to that is more discussion, not attempts to silence those individuals that we find unpleasant.  It is impossible to reach any understanding without first being prepared to listen.

Do you know he has self-abuse problems? Has he not made it so clear in his "incessant" blogs? Would you mind being nice to someone who is autistic?
