Being connected to the internet doesn't mean that your client doesn't have issues with communicating with the chess.com servers, either due to processes on your client or something on the path to the chess.com servers, and potentially problems on the site end.
This time, whenever I go to live chess, it says 'please wait. It's taking longer to connect.' So I can not play any games. What should I do?
