Looking for a Chess Coach – Struggling but Strong

My name is Tyler. I’m 31 years old, and I’ve recently fallen in love with chess. I’ve only been playing for a few months, but it’s quickly become one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

I’m currently rated around 510, and while that number is low, my motivation is sky-high. I practice daily, watch lessons, and analyze my games obsessively. I want to get better not just to improve my rating, but to build something for myself.

Life hasn’t been easy. I suffer from nerve damage, which affects both my day-to-day life and my ability to work consistently. Earning money is difficult, and that makes finding quality coaching even harder. Still, I’m not giving up.

Chess gives me purpose. It sharpens my mind, calms my anxiety, and gives me something to chase. I’m actively looking for a coach who’s willing to believe in me, to help guide me through this journey someone patient, encouraging, and skilled.

If you’re a coach who believes in potential over numbers, or if you know someone who is, I’d be grateful just to talk. I can’t afford premium rates, but I can offer dedication, punctuality, and total commitment.

Thank you for reading. It means more than you know.

You can scroll through chess.com/coaches. Some tend to read the forums, but most don't - it'll do you better to search for them actively, than hope they read your post.

2009-2011 I played 45 minute games against the bots from Chessmaster 10. And played 15 minute games from chess.com, chesscube (already closed), and playchess.com. Without studying anything. 2012-2014 I got two books one thick opening book I memorized openings. One thick tactics book I solved everyday. 2015-2017 I included endgame study. 2018 to present, I learned to include strategy study. Now I have total of 30 chess books. I have nerve and mind problems too I cannot follow any of my personalized chess training routines. So I just enjoy the game.
