Lost in Translation...

Question:

Do people write posts in some particular language other than English, and then just run them through a free online translation site en masse, then post them to a forum?  Someone should tell them that the resulting gibberish makes zero sense....

 Below is an example of the kind of post that leads me to ask this question (no offense to the author)...

Tal was admirable demonic man! The crowd follow him!/Am I mention, that woman loved to got his chess lessons?..
/Everyone wanna get his autograph!  He signed his name, ...and Fisher's name, too...
'Why you did it?', someone asked...
'I beat him so many times, that I has a right to sign for him, also...'

I keep seeing this kind of nonsensical mess in posts on chess.com, and the aforementioned is the only reasonable explanation that has occured to me; is there a way to let these people know that their posts are utterly worthless when they do this?  

Now don't think that I'm criticising these people, because I'm not.  However, If they do want their posts to count, maybe they should post in their native tongue, and bilingual members in the Chess.com community could translate the post if they thought it notable.

I don't know if I've correctly guessed the cause of these nonsensical posts, but I am identifying a problem and trying to think of solutions. 

 Let me know what you think, or possibly know, about this topic.

Cloyescapade - what the hell is wrong with you, sir? Bowens has not only a legitimate questin, but his posts were precisely punctuated. Your grammer, on the other hand, is flawed through and through.

I haven't seen such a misguidedly antagonistic post since cheater_1 first showed his slimy head. You're WAY off base, Cloy.

I care not what level of interest you're able to maintain Miss Cloy, that's your problem. You should choose your battles more wisely... as anyone who reads this thread can tell you were being quite flippant in your choice of them.

I presume by making reference to your attention span you're trying to create a gracious exit for yourself. BY ALL MEANS. My friend Bowens' thread would've been better off with your immature, attention-deficit attacks.

So again, if the free translation sites are to blame for this, maybe chess.com could ensure that there is support for multi-language posting, and encourage Multi-Lingual community members to translate posts to other members (English to Spanish, Spanish to English), or even install some in house translation mechanism?

My God. "Jenesequa" is perhaps the most abhorrent, odious aberration of the French language I have ever encountered.

Anyway, duly continue with the spat in a proper manner, and mind not to employ English perversions of French. It seems the translation problem applies even to those who disparage the discussion of the topic.

 About the original topic, I don't see how an automated mechanism would be any improvement on what already exists. A member based translation service, with volunteers translating, would be ideal, but it's difficult to foretell whether there will be enough who do volunteer. (I, for one, would.)

 No need to ask Locke, Miss Cloy, I'm right here. (glance at what city he hails from, and ask yourself if he and I know each other)

       look, there are many site users that have learned english as a second or even third language. While their points may be lost on those who are intonlerant to poor translation, there are those out there who appreciate their attempt to embrace and expand the little english that they may know.  It's not a problem, it's just something that takes three seconds for you to click out of.  I embrace those who put themselves out there and suffer through the critisisms.

If you want to critisize my run-ons go for it, just dont tell me how English was your second language behind french-canadian, eh.

hey, in the spirit of Bowens' intial post - I don't believe he was being at all antagonistic to members on this site who don't speak English - far from it!

And look, if you felt you were defending them. then by all means, there has been a misunderstanding.

If I understand Bowens correctly, he was referring to what he suspected might be the use of sites like Babelfish.org as translator utilities, and he was asking the admin if there was any way around it. Personally, I don't see any easy solution, but that was his thread.

AND, if you thought that the best way to defend them was by saying: " I don't know they make about as much sense as your  pretentious, overly punctuated run-on sentences."

i have not really noticed this problem, except from the member that made that comment in the op.

besides that one member making many topics and posts in that fashion i have not noticed it.

just thought i would say the same thing twice in diffrent ways.
