It's perhaps not the best year to check out Kuban, sadly. Struggling near the wrong end of the table  On the bright side, Krasnodar is still the only city other than Moscow with more than one team in the Primera Liga 

Poverty and good football players go hand in hand. Why do you think the Brazilians produce such good football teams? because the kids have nothing else to do. No sitting on playstations or xbox.  Scotland used to be awesome, we have produced many world class footballers and a few exceptional managers.  All of these people came from a background of non affluence.  Money cannot buy you success, teams try it all the time, Man City, Chealski, Aresenal, the team that is top of the English leauge are a team of unknowns, the top scorer someone that used to play in a non leauge team. Poverty foments good footballers.

Maybe its too cold in Russia or they prefer to play chess or hockey?  Fascinating country though, id love to go there.
