In chess you queen a pawn and in life you pawn a drum.  Been there, too.  I played bass for the first time this year Tuesday.  Old strings+soft hands=blisters.  But I wasn't as rusty as I thought I'd be.

                 Don't remind me. I haven't played in about a year. Its not my playing, its these dam cigarettes.  When you can't play the bass line in Allman Brothers--Whipping Post, then you've got problems.

             I went to the VA today because I was out of inhalers. I had Wipping Post CRANKED to about 999. I stopped to talk to a DJ buddy. He wants to be put to sleep for a csytoscapy.

I ran through some Zep, some Purple, some Cream--the first song I played was Tales of Brave Ulysses ("You thought the leaden winter/Would bring you down forever).
