Make an option to remove the time limit in multiplayer

Honestly, I think we should make it an option to not have a time limit (AKA chess clock) when you're playing with somebody else, because it makes me nervous at times when my clock is almost out. I also think that having chess clocks are unfair, since you win the game by having your opponent's clock run out. Can't they have time to think? We don't have the chess clocks when playing with bots. So basically, this is why I suggest an option to not have the chess clock in multiplayer games.

Then what prompts anyone to move when they're losing or in a tough position? They could just sit there and make you wait for a long time.

You could mimic it with Daily and turn off the auto-claim feature if you have it on. Though, you would need to find like minded players to do the same

Just try to tell them to move. They should take however long they want, because you are not forced to move quickly in a real game.

BTW, I'm suggesting an OPTION to remove it, not removing it COMPLETELY.

And the worse thing about chess clocks is that they don't reset to their original time when the player is done making their moves, which makes it even scarier.

For live games, they reset to the computed time taken to move, since client clocks start moving before the move is seen by a player's opponent (in addition to any allowed lag). For Daily, they do reset to the time control.

I understood you mean it as an option, but I'm still certain you would end up with games that would drag on forever. You can already go multiple years at 14 days per move.

What would stop opponents from refusing to play if they were losing? If you don’t like the clock, just play daily or make the time control higher. You can make it so you have like 2 weeks per move on daily, that should be plenty of time lol.

Also, I think of time as like a piece. Time management is an important part of chess. Like I said, if you don’t like it then you can play at a higher time control and should be fine. But I don’t think winning on time is unfair. Most chess games will have a lot of time on the clock, usually more than enough to think out your move.
