@ Trysts,

Sorry for the delay, trysts 1-4 have failed to determine the cause of my new friend, leak number 3 ( that is after having new boiler, bathroom etc done at once)

I think the point I was trying to get at is what might be fairly described as an Attack as opposed to shall we say a normal and acceptable part of the rough and tumble of the forums.

So first of all you say you have not been attacked , have you any idea of what an attack on you would consist of ?

So for example :

Trysts you are a fool

Trysts your lack of any knowledge shows itself perfectly in the way you avoid, wriggle, and frankly do not know you are talking about

Trysts you are a stupid b _ _ _ _ , just get a life off here and come back when you have grown up

Trysts you are obviously a frustrated _ _ _ _ _, get a man and shut your mouth.

Personally to me 3 and especially 4 would be unacceptable, and I would have to be very controlled not to "hit back at number 2.

Of course this varies from person to person, but the oft given answer if one objects is "grow a thicker skin" - helpful if one is told how maybe ?!

I am interested in your views on the above possible responses, not necessarily on how you might deal with them because you may well be able to simply brush them all off, but would you consider any of them an attack, regardless of your ability to respond ?

 Tests 5- 7 coming up. later ?

Leakitude

Yes, those have happened(and eerily almost word-for-wordSurprised). It really depends on my mood, how I've addressed these things, besides just ignoring them. It also has to do with who said them, as I would be hurt more than mad or indifferent if the person who said these things was someone I liked/respected. If you've encountered stuff like that, then how you react to it is your responsibility. I wouldn't want anyone to expect a response from me, because it really depends on the above mentioned things.

What exactly are you getting at, Itude? What's your thesis here?

You know what's funny?  In my "topics I've posted in" the last post here is attributed to Mljac, but it's rooperi's post--no Mljac at all.  Is he blocked from this thread?

pelly13

If posting a pic was the only reason , then it is indeed very strange that (if) Mljac is banned. If he was banned , I wonder if HE got an explanation why or , like in my case , just received the ticket saying you're banned.

dashkee94

I now have a personal message from Mljac that I cannot open.  Isn't this a little ridiculous?  If you want him to stop posting in this thread, fine, but if he has something to say to me, why block me from reading it?  C'mon, this isn't the way to handle it.

@Itude: Okay, I'll go through each choice, starting with...

5. It's not "purely my problem" if someone wants to call me names. It's their problem, and it may be pointed out to them.

4. They don't know me personally(as far as I know), so they're just being jerks.

3. Maybe. Because some people get used to calling people names and they expect to be called names as well. I've watched guys do this to each other all-the-time. But I'm not them, so they can't expect everyone to be like them. So, too sensitive? Maybe, maybe not. It depends. I had a game of chess with someone here who started mocking me when I was losing. Now, it didn't upset me more than it surprised me, because I don't do that. So, in my view, he didn't deserve to be really, really criticized for his behaviour because this is what he's used to doing. I simply don't have to play him anymore. There is a satisfying relief in finding out how he honestly conducts himself and that we just don't have to go through that again. I understand him, and he understands me:)

2. Chess.com can do whatever they wish. It's their website, not mine.

1. Maybe. It depends on what is said, what is the context, what is my mood, etc.

rooperi

also got a message from mljac, which i cant open

It looks like he got banned.  For no reason most likely.  Anyone that was here could see he didn't say anything out of line.

Looks like these "new" moderators are trigger happy.  We should demand an explanation.

I learned, as a very young man, that demanding things from others is a sure way not to get 'em.

If that is the case, he has been put on mute. And will be referred on to someone else.
