Support must have unlocked it for them.
1. Browse to https://www.chess.com/play/computer.
2. Play a game with any bot.
3. When game is finished, click Game Review or Analysis to save the game. This is proof that you actually played a bot.
4. In the lower left of your screen, click Help | Report a Bug.
5. Write that you played a bot but did not get the Man vs. Machine achievement. Ask to send you the achievement.
6. Click Send.
I received mine the next day.

Officially, that achievement was for playing one of the bots that used to be in live. It was never changed to be for playing a bot under vs Computer, but apparently support may unlock it for that.
