missing pieces

Had a few games on this app where I had major pieces missing entirely. No rooks no knights like wtf? Is that a glitch or a setting? I was up two pawns my opponent took one pawn and it said he was +9 🤷

I have missing pieces every time i wash my clothes . . .
My socks always disappear . . . Some times my under wear.
Sometimes when I'm playing a game i don't see a piece until i leave it to be taken .
