mobile chess issue

Hi everyone,

Short and sweet: I updated the OS on my blackberry curve and now I cannot connect to play chess.  I've removed, re-installed and check for updates but nothing is working.  I upgraded my account specifically to have more moves available since a lot of my chess now is played on the go.  Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

B04155, what is your Blackberry Curve OS version now and what were you upgrading from, if you know? Are you able to connect to the internet and/or receive emails since the upgrade? What error are you receiving when you try to connect using the Mobile Chess?

The OS is v.4.5.0.81, I don't recall the previous OS offhand.  Even so, I had spotty success with the chess app to begin with, now absoulutely nothing.  Everything with the phone works flawlessly except for mobile chess.  I get a dialog box asking permission to connect (I say yes), then it just hangs on a blank screen.

Have a look at this thread. There is some APN setting that seems to solve the issue you describe for a lot of Blackberry users.

Thanks Flanne, that did it.  Funnily enough I had already set the APN in the past and didn't think to look at it as a problem since everything else was working.  I guess upgrading the OS reset the APN as it was blank when I checked it just now.
