My chess rating for my age?

hi guys,i am 14 and started playing chess 1 and 1/2 years ago.my rating normally hovers around 1050.Am i good for my age and time playing?

How would we know? There are no statistics available here for age/rating at blitz chess. On the overall curve of blitz players, your rating is still below the current average of 1102.

If you had an over the board rating tournament rating, you could compare yourself to others in your age bracket. The US Chess Federation published lists of young players by age bracket. I don't know if they do in South Africa but I would be surprised if they didn't.

What will be more important than your current level is whether or not you are improving. You just joined here two months ago and your rating seems to be rising from where it settled down. Keep it up.

Age doesn't really matter, though most top level players start early and grab a title before the end of their teens. 1050 is great for 1.5 years. Keep at it!

for those who think i stink,i have only had chess.com for 2 or 3 months and before that i had nowhere to learn so basically been playing for 2 0r 3 months and got diamond membership only 2 weeks ago.
