Have you got it set on "infinite analysis"?

 

p.s. It would be helpful if you gave the name of the program/engine that you are attempting to play against.

its "Play against the computer" ie chess.com.  Up untill 3 days ago, no problem. it was working fine. Now for some unknown reason it has stopped responding
