My Cool Checkmates - Part I

We all love to do beautiful checkmates.  We always want to end a game with a dazzling sequence that ended in a pretty mate.  Well, while I do believe that these checkmates I have pulled are pretty, the positions and sequences that led to many of them are pretty ugly!

 

Take this first one for instance.  This is an old game in which I played horribly, but I decided that I would play on until I got checkmated or until he blundered and I checkmated him.  Well, it just so happens that I managed to set up a trap that my opponent didn't see coming.  BIshops are monsters on open diagonals!

 

 

That last mate was the result of a little trickery and hoping he left he pieces that were around his king where they were.  Sometimes, we don't expect our kings to be hampered by his own men, but often times, that is what leads to a checkmate.
For example, in this old game of mine, I did some dancing around with my knight, and my opponent just happened to arrange his pieces in such a way, that I was able to checkmate him with just that one knight on the 9th move!
That last checkmate was a cool one, but personally, I think checkmate blows delivered by pawns are some of the greatest.  Here's an old game I played against one of my friends on here that ended with a pawn push!
This next mate happened in a game I played a couple of days ago.  I just absolutely love the bishops and I love it when I pull a checkmate with them.  Most of the time they are just supporting other pieces or sealing off squares, but in this game, they delivered the mate directly!
This next checkmate happened in one of my very first chess games here on chess.com.  I was a beginner at this time, and so I played pretty badly for most of the game.  I'd have probably lost if my opponent hadn't moved his king out.  This is a cool comeback mate!
Ever since I started playing about a year and a half ago, I have been fascinated with this game and all the possibilities in it.  These are just a few of my cool mates.  Part 2 is coming soon.  Thanks to everyone who took time to read this!
