Hi Everyone,

I am new to Chess.com and I'm looking for some recommendations on how you all used the Openings section, and especially the Explorer tool, to study openings.  I am primarily interested in building a White repertoire around 1.e4 and a Black repertoire around 1.e4 c5 and 1.d4 Nf6.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SureBay, you didn’t answer my question at all, but thanks for trying anyway.

I asked a question about the use of a specific feature on chess.com. Your reply said nothing to address that topic. Instead, you proceeded to assume that you know better what I need and/or want to do than even I do, which is wrong. Your second reply is just an attempt to belittle me to make yourself feel better about your own insecurities.

As for why I’m 1486 since 2011, I originally created an account on chess.com on that date, but only started playing on here in the last couple of days. Not that it is any of your concern.

Again, you didn’t answer my original question, and I don’t need you to tell me what “approach” I should take.

You clearly have issues. Obviously it was a mistake asking a simple question on this forum.

Good for you. I knew if you tried really hard and believed in yourself you could do it. Smh

If you go to the opening explorer, the default database of games is Chess.com's library of GM games which is great to develop repertoire! For example, you were wanting to see that Morra-Gambit line with Nf6 (After 1. e4 c5 2. d4, I recommended you definitely take on d4 or else you'll get an inferior version of the Alekhine's Defense); you can click "view all games from this position" and you can study the games that occurred with that position.

I personally like to view Komodo's or Stockfish's games when I need to prepare a line with very deep and concrete lines like the Bg5 Najdorf. You can do this by clicking on "other players" to change the library of games. This feature is also great for preparing against an opponent who you know plays on Chess.com.

Hope that helps!
