New: 4 Player Chess on Chess.com!? (Prototype)

There will be a couple of ways to do this in the near future. You will be able to choose a teammate for rated team play, and you will also be able to create a custom room (unrated)where you can control all the players, time control, and even some rules.

Oh, is there a way to make a game with the same group? (Like I'm in the group A.R.C.) Could 3 members from that group join my 4 way chess game?

this mode is awesome .... really got me back playing chess .... but _please_ give options to have a warning sound when its your turn and when your timer starts running! i lose so many games coz of not noticing the clock (the whole 4-player-ness makes this especially confusing as you just don't even realise its your turn sometimes)

also, if there's two players left and one resigns (e.g. to claim the win), but there was a 3rd player's king still on the board, does the non-resigner get 40 points (i.e. both kings) or 20? they really should get 40 imo, but i have a funny feeling that maybe didn't happen one game, but i'm not sure .....

also regarding not knowing whose turn it is - highlighting (i.e. a bright white border or something) the timer box very clearly of the person whose turn it is would really help too (especially for when it's your turn).

Great to hear
Another suggestion, that's perhaps more debatable, but I'd like to put in my 10 cents worth - I would vote for 'claim win' being automatically forced (and then letting the people play on if they really want but not having any affect on standings) .... the reasoning being .... in 4p chess, you always want everyone to be acting in their best interests, otherwise it gets unfair+unplayable quick ..... when you are down to two, if the leader can claim win, its basically always in his interest to do so ... doing otherwise is not playing for himself (his best interests) anymore, but rather only either:
1. to juggle the standings of 2nd/3rd/4th positions
2. or, coz he wants to finish and/or see how the position plays out
point 2 is solved by allowing them to continue following the forced win claim, but with no bearing on result+rankings ..... point 1 is just something best avoided (exactly by doing this forced win), as letting a player do this (play purely to change the standings of the other players) when its avoidable really goes against the fairness of the 4p game .... hence I prefer automatically forcing the 'claim win' whenever possible.
I know it's a tricky issue but imho automatically applying the win claim would be the most 'fair' + predictable system.
how to report bugs on the 4 player chess game?
Tonight has been pretty glitchy had 3 aborts because a player couldn't move at all at the very beginning. 2 games where the king could not take an opponents piece. It wasn't because it would have put them in check either.
Also curious about how to handle verbally abusive players? This occured while watching a 4 player chess game in the spectator comments.
You should be able to do /stop-chat
