New chess Variant

Hi, I suggested backwards pawns here on chess.com under an old handle a while ago. Chess.com did not go all out with my suggestion, however. Chess.com stuck with a modified sideways pawn variant from my suggestion. My idea was to make a new chess variant since computers are catching up with traditional chess, and we do not want to run out of openings and moves. I proposed a variant called backwards pawns that can move normally but when the pawn reaches the 5th rank one square over the double move to the 4th rank it has the option of also moving back one square or sideways. As long as the pawn is at the 5th rank or above to the 6th, 7th, any move forward from the 5th rank is the same for the pawn now. And can also capture backwards the same as it can going forward diagonally. However, the pawn cannot move backwards going into its own territory under the 4th rank (or the halfway point of the board) it can only go backwards or sideways or forwards after the 5th rank. This adds a new dimension to the opening and adds many more moves. Plus, unlike other chess variants, it does not add new pieces or increase board size. It also makes sense since as the pawn advances up the board it gains more power until it reaches the 8th rank where it can promote itself.  Thanks promote this idea if you think Chess.com should try it on here.  Best Regards iqjws.

I think chess.com only puts popular variants. I never heard they accepted any idea of a variant from a member I think? Well, I think you have a good idea there.
