New Features & Fixes - Oct 27 2010

We pushed some new code today and wanted to let you know what we did :)

1. Added "Play Vs. Computer" to several features! (Premium Only)

• Finish Game: Let's say your opponent resigned early and you wanted to play it out vs. the computer - now you can see what would have happened! (I LOVE this - I can now do my satisfying checkmates when my opponent resigns in the face of Mate in Two.) 
• Tactics Trainer: Now you can play vs. the computer and try different things!
• Opening Exporer: You can now check out openings, and then try them vs. the computer!
• Video Lessons: Play out the KEY positions of videos to see if you learned your lesson!

2. Online Chess Store: Chess.com has partnered with WholesaleChess.com to create a new, improved shopping experience on Chess.com! And now, Chess.com premium members get an additional 5% off at WholesaleChess.com when you click through our store! 

3. Vs. Computer Updates: more stable computer opponent, and you can now switch sides mid-game! 

4. Position Diagrams in Emails - a few days ago we rolled out images in emails so you can now see the last move made by your opponent. Next step is adding the actual move in there (like 4. Bxf7+!), which is coming soon. 

5. Facebook Updates - made some improvements to facebook integration, dashboard, and sharing. 

6. Misc Bugs

• Webmail fixes
• Tactics Trainer improvements
• Easier international membership payments
• Lots of other secret features.... (muahahahaha!)

Can we try to guess the secret features?

Secret new feature: no more ads for leechers and lurkers

Ya know, I was wondering, sometimes we set up tournament between teams for vote chess.  But there are no trophies for the winning team.  I was wondering if when they add new trophies to the ones we can send people like the Merry Christmas one, and ,  if you could Add a gold 1st, silver 2nd, and bronze 3rd place trophy in the line up.  That way we could send them out to the vote chess team members when they win a tournament.   Thanks.....
