For those of you who didn't see this in the NEWS section:

Over the last few months we have had a lot of great feedback from our members on what they would like to see on the site. Thank you! Today we are releasing a  TON of new features for the site. Below is a list and description of the updates:

ONLINE CHESS UPDATES
"Email chess" is no longer called email chess. It is going to become Turn-based chess once LIVE chess is released (in about 3 weeks). We also added:

- an analysis board
- ability to replay through your last moves
- personal NOTES on your game so you can keep your thoughts
- better links on the game page

Later this week we are also adding the option to show coordinates on the board as well as many new chess sets and board colors!

CHESSOPEDIA
We have added a new section called "Chessopedia". It is a repository for factual information on chess - biographies, terminology, rules, openings, events, etc. It acts just like a regular wiki except that it uses a simple text editor instead of wiki language and you can easily embed diagrams/games! Everyone is an editor!

FORUM UPDATES
We have added a bunch of new forum tools including "Quote" feature, new icons for locked, read, sticky, etc, and a new menu to help you find important posts quickly. This should help everyone stay on top of the forums more easily! :)

VIDEO COMMENTS
You can comment on videos!

CHESS.COM MEMBER STORE
Do you love Chess.com? Now you can show your support with cool and funny shirts, hats, mousepads, stickers, etc!

IMPROVED ALERTS
You now have better control over how you get alerts from Chess.com, so that you can choose to have alerts just in your Alert box, or to your email as well.

We know that we don't have 100% of every possible feature of every possible website... yet. But we're working hard to get there and we always welcome your feedback!

erik
i forgot to mention you can now also see your SENT ITEMS in your messages :)

SWEET! Very Cool Erik :-)

I challenged you to a rematch... where is it? ;-)

Wow! Cool stuff. I like the Email Chess stuff; I have already started using them - making notes and replaying games. Awesome!

I checked out the store... I will get back to it. I guess I will have to find a way to ask if I can get a mock-turtleneck chess.com t-shirt, The Tiger Woods ones. (Sorry, I just asked for it!)

I will check the rest after I post this!

Keep up the good work!

Ahh, very good. I was always trying to see my sent messages to other people but never could.

Nice add-on!

adding one more feature today: if you leave your browser open on a game or on the /echess/myhome.html page it will flash "MY MOVE!" in the browser when it is your move. so while you are in the middle of "working", you can now know when it is your turn :)

Great new features, erik.  Thanks to all involved in making it happen and for responding to feedback so quickly.

Where is the analysis board?  I can't seem to find it. Embarassed

SonofPearl
Ah, spotted it now.  On the "moves" menu.  I had to scroll down to the end of the move list to see it.
StacyBearden
Thanks for all the new work and a great website for chess lovers.

I really like the new merch as well.  Very nicely done.  We will see how the ordering/shipping works out i suppose.  : P
erik
that stuff is all shipped and processed with CafePress - they are the professionals who take care of this kind of thing for thousands of sites!

Kudos, guys for the efforts. Just dreaming . . . may we have one for the ears? Sounds, perhaps? No, that's asking too much. But who knows, someday, soon?
erik
you want sounds on the chessboard when you move?
bartz

Not all the way. Just like when you check, you checkmate (applause, perhaps) , or when you resign (a scream would do, or a sob?) We can have distinct sounds, too, when we open mail, post a blog or a message, solve a puzzle, etc. There are lots of possibilities. Just don't overdo and all in the spirit of clean fun, and with the option to shut everything down (silence). Too much? Just an idea, really.

erik
would you rather have sounds, or LIVE chess?
Howlingbanshee
On chessopedia I cannot select the next page on the 'C' (last one on the page is CCFC?  and I know there are more C's) .  I'm sure the same thing happens with other letters.
