I would like a switch sides button like there used to be when playing against the engine.

On my computer screen with the new bots if I want to select black I just select black on the right (?).
Also for me personally I don’t like to wait for the computer to move. I understand waiting may simulate a human on the other side but for me it seems like a waste of my practice time. I’ve got better things to do than stare at a static chess board after I have moved but before the other side has moved. : ) But I guess I see where the other folks are coming from, I just wanted to weigh in with my preference. ; )
Why not use that same artificial timing site-wide? Why limit it to only /computer?
Probably because they are completely separate code/projects. Also, I think at some point the rated options in Live will be going away [Play (BETA) already doesn't have selectable bots], so adding to those bots would be wasted effort.
@Martin_Stahl What you mean by these ...the rated options in Live ... ?

Play > Live Chess > vs Computer
That give the bots list in live where you can play rated games, if you want.
That section in Play (BETA) just goes to Play > Computer and the new unrated bots.

@Martin_Stahl Well sorry, but im still not getting it. If i go to Play > Play (BETA) i have no Computer there:

and if i go to Custom Game, no Computers again:

strange. But what im in fact worrying about is this: you saying, that they will make Live Bots Unrated only?
@Martin_Stahl ...the only 2 places where i can find Bots are:
1st) Play > Computer
2nd) Play > Live Chess.
You really have it in Play > Play (BETA) ?

I don't get into Play (BETA) a lot but there used to be a Computer button there that went to Play > Computer
There is still some work in progress with respect to the Play UX. It's true you don't see a Computer option at /play/online, because that is for games vs people. You do see the option to play vs Computer at the higher-level chess.com/play (which is not yet really used) - and that will take you to /play/computer.

@DeepGreen Now i understand it, thank you sir. That is the page i get when i simply click Play (while not having open any Daily games). PS My last question is: So will those Live Bots stay Rated? I would like it.

As of right now, the vs Computer option in Live Chess goes to the new bots. Though it looks like you can currently still directly challenge at least some of them.
I second that. If the delay were actually the computer's thinking time, and you could push the computer into time trouble by thinking on the computer's time and moving quickly, sure, but today's engines are much too fast/good for that. You'd have to run the engine on a simulated 8088 processor or something.
Are the estimated ratings for blitz, rapid, classical? I'd assume that a 1500 classical bot would play much better than a 1500 blitz bot.

Found out this is just in beta right now.
...The only place we added artificial "human" move timing is at /play/computer (and in the mobile apps' Computer feature).
I find the experience at /play/computer quite different, with a fair amount of variety in the Bots' move timing.
