The switch option takes you to the newest Live interface. Basically, the old interface will be retired, so the site is suggesting to migrate to it in advance.

For some reason that doesn't show like that on mine 
The play interface has got no Focus Mode. The live chess interface which has Focus Mode is now removed. How do I get into focus mode? The focus mode icon (4 arrows pointing outward) is also removed from play interface. Please Help. Thank You Thank You very very much.

It does, but if your screen/browser window size is too small it won't show on hover.
You can hit Z on your keyboard to enable/disable it. Or you can change your browser zoom level to get it to show.
