no vacation daily chess - still don’t get it

Sorry to sound like a newbie, but with daily 960 no vacation chess , how exactly is that played. Over a day or with a 3 min or 15 min time limit in that game as many as you can do in one day. I’ve looked up definitions but I’m lacking just this one bit of info. I want to try a tournament of 960 daily no vacation but I work shift patterns. I’d hate to enter only to find I can’t actually play at a certain point! Anyone help me with that, I know, this seems like a total newbie question. Apologies.

You have the time control in days to make each of your moves, and then your opponent does as well.
