I notice that I have been nominated for being a troll for: playing a forum game the way I was supposed to? Not saying there is no post I have made out there that deserves a nomination, but that's definitely undeserving of a troll nomination .

Yes you are very lucky!

Omargalanti. I forgot which post, but I think he should be nominated. Here is his profile

http://www.chess.com/members/view/omargalanti His avatar for some reason makes a good troll. He was on a lot of my topics.

Now that the OP has pointed out the critical distinction between trolls and spammers, we can safely dispense with some nominations. Omar is among the latter.

Well, I was referring to a stricter definition of "spamming," which for me just meant posting the same thing over and over again. A broader definition of spamming is harder to define, and more subjective, so I don't think it should be used as a guideline in this contest. The original rules of the contest did not specify that nominations can be withdrawn, so I'll keep him and 90007000.

Yeah I think the broader definition of spamming would include Hormel factory workers who may or may not play chess so you were correct in not using it as a guideline, as it may have been slightly off-topic. Well said.

So, if my user name was Hormel, my avatar a can of meat, and I posted the names of Chessmaster versions over and over in answer to everything, I would not be an eater of billy goats, but rather food for college students and boy scouts.

bean_Fischer

Is it time to vote?

Lol I just happened to notice this post. I haven't been doing anything.

For all troll of the month contests, voting starts on the first day of the next month. If voting started during the month, then those nominated for threads created later in the month would be at a disadvatage.

Correct the last word and I will remove the quote and this comment.

You should find someone to put it all on paper. The definitions , the rules and the scoring system. Members, their ratings and how to be allowed to become one.

Legalise it , form a Group. Show the world , the social media, that trolling is healthy and indispensable for the survival of the net. Keeps it clean from bugs and other nasty things.  Something like peniciline against the clap.

That guy ilgambittoo or something like that is a massive troll. He has the most useless threads.

I am not a troll; I am a visionary, a revolutionary--an insurrectionist!

You forgot to add that you also have a narrow field of vision and can speak of nearly nothing else than your love and addiction to communisme.

The way you defend communisme is the same as the way the NRA and the people owning guns in America defend their amendment.

A mediocre troll could reply something like :

You are a troll; not a visionary, nor a revolutionary--and definitely no insurrectionist!

He made fine use of some math trick , called " inverting a logical statement ". I could elaborate on this , but will not do so.

Why should it be the first day of the month? It should be the last day. They are only separated by 24 hours. Ding Ding

@TheGambit:

Nice of you to correct me on my typo. I will edit my original post asap.Keep the original.

You spotted one little error , jumped on it like a fly on shite , blew it up and thought you found a nice way to escape the real issue.

And oh , yes spelling is sometimes difficult when your are not native to the English language. This is about 80% of the world. Including the Dutch.

Finally , I would appreciate it if you didn't EDIT my quotes. You may copy them , but ADD your own comment or copies to it. Leave my quotes alone.

Yup, I totally agree with you, except that I am strongly pro-gun rights. But anyway, this is supposed to be a fun thread, so I won't try to start any political arguments (which, askide from making this thread not so fun, could also potentially get it locked before 10/31, which would ruin the contest).

Well, I guess technically it should be 12:00 midnight on 10/31 in the latest time zone (wherever and whenever that is), but due to practicality reasons, I'll just make the morning of 11/1, whenever I get up from bed (which is approximately 8:30 AM central). Voting will be done on a new thread, which I will create on that day.

Is there any early bird vote or preliminary vote?
