The plan is to eventually delete the old one

@RedFastMath That's exactly what Play is for, replacing Live with new UI and better code when it's completely ready.
We appreciate any feedback you give on the future switch to and current features of Play.

Don't know why people don't like Play?
Because live chess allows you to select opponents in open seek
Hey all. We removed "Live Chess" from the nav bar, and that upset many of you. I'm sorry.
Our goal is to make the best possible interface for online play, and we realize that we haven't quite gotten there for everyone yet with "Play". While 99% of people are on Play, there are some differences, and we gathered your feedback about the things you miss.
Some things are just a little different, and with all changes, will take just a moment to adjust to. Other things, admittedly, are too different or missing. We are assessing those things now and hope to make improvements to Play that will meet your needs.
I'm sorry that we were abrupt about it. Frankly, we didn't get a lot of pushback until we pushed this change to 100%. But we realize that we messed up on this, and I apologize.
Ultimately we have to move on from Live. The tech is older, the style doesn't match our evolving visuals, and it actually makes it harder for us to progress (nerd moment: it holds us back because of the old code while we are doing development and deploys).
That said, we are committed to making improvements and will keep Live around a little while longer so we can polish up Play even more.
Again - sorry. And thank you!
