OMG Chess.com - DO NOT spoil the results of the World Chess Champs

I watch the games on YouTube at the evening.  I start watching game seven. Soon I get the itch to play on chess.com and BAM, you have a banner with the current score 4-3! Thanks for ruining my entertainment (and your ad revenue).

I'm not being unreasonable am I? Sure it can be discussed within your website, but a huge banner when I log in to play a game. I am very angry right now because this is something my parents do on NFL. They tell me sorry the Seahawks lost and I ALWAYS watch this on DVR delay. Grrr.

You don't have to go in to the site through the home page.  You can go directly to the Play page or any page less likely to reveal the results.

That's a good suggestion. My post was a venting post mostly, but also on their YouTube videos, the thumbnail or title for a game sometimes gives away the result. I have to navigate carefully and blur my eyes.

I'm a big Formula 1 fan and I have to watch all the races on delayed DVR recording, so I know to be careful to not go to any news site (even non racing sites), twitter, facebook, etc. As you can see I'm fastidious about that. I just hope I don't have to start doing it for chess.

To save a few hours watching Formula 1, just watch the last lap - the other laps are pretty much the same. happy.png

AussieRookie, I think you dont understand it. I myself dont watch it but your reasoning is meaningless for fans of F1.

Magnus (commenting on Formula 1) : I don't see the point.

There you go, Poldi - great minds think alike. happy.png
