Peace dove as flair

Noooooooooooooooooooooo
Thanks for your honesty, noted ... But would you like to give a reason as well?

Yes, a pity ...
But she was closed for abuse ...

How interesting. I haven't seen all her content, but what I have seen certainly isn't abusive. Thoughtful and concerned, but definitely not abusive.

Well, that's surely a possible reason. But I think the main reason is that they just do not want to have a (political) "war" here on the site. As far as I can see, they tolerate debates about the war in Ukraine (and how to deal with it) as long as it is chess-related (like about what FIDE does, or what the site could do). But they do not tolerate forums and discussions that go deeper into the conflict ... (Which, tbh, could be allowed here, IMHO, as an exception of the general rule, but I also understand that there are reasons not to allow it, and also reasons that have nothing to do with Russian money ...)

The comments here - as far as I can tell - have not been, indeed.
But I suppose we have not seen all of what she had written. (I am pretty sure the account would not have been closed just for the comments here ...)

Hey everyone, as I said before, political discussions in the forums are against TOS. There are other places online to discuss this topic. Chess.com is a chess website which has discussions focusing on chess. Please, let's just keep politics out of here, but if it continues, we will lock it down.
Thanks, Justin

There is definitely something not normal. Rational discussion in the past has always been allowed. I can understand omitting offensive posts by individuals, but wholesale locking down of topics does look a lot like what we are seeing on the news.
So either they are getting marching orders that conflict with what the people want, or, they are simply oblivious to the optics of it.

Well, this forum was not locked yet ... But there has been a warning now, #84.
I think it depends on if the discussion still is mostly chess-related or not ... (I even avoided naming any countries or leaders in my OP, for reasons ...)
Again, I kindly ask everybody NOT to discuss the Russian aggression on Ukraine here, but only to support the OP ...
(As said, I also would like chess.com to be more tolerant in this case, but I am ready to accept if they are not ...)
Done! Great idea.
Also funny that we all support peace, but play a game that is basically ritualised warfare.
Well, yes, this is an interesting point - would deserve it's own forum, tbh ... But I think there's no contradiction. You could say in chess, one overcomes (military) aggression, and puts it just on level of playing and peaceful competition ... it is the "synthesis of war and peace", if this is not a too big word ...
I would not have objected if Mr Putin had challenged Mr Selenskyi for a game of chess ...
(Most sports, tbh, are strongly competitive, and many have elements of warcraft ... and you even do not have to think of Biathlon ... So the same goes for many other sports ...)
That was, honestly, also the idea behind the title of my tourney "Play chess, not war", which I am happy to promote here as well (that was not my reason in the beginning, but I think it is appropriate here ...)
