Some people might find it very distracting whilst playing, so you need to keep that in mind when playing a game

If it's that distracting for them, then I doubt they will respond...
In my past few games I've been talking with my opponents a lot more. It's nice to have conversations with people from around the world and hear about their experience with chess, and even conversations about COVID and politics. I just thought it was nice. Does anyone else have experiences with this or do you stay quiet during your games?
