Player kept resigning making me unable to get more rating

I am unable to earn rating as player resign when they lost a queen or a rook. Why do they always resign like that? beginner in chess.com

If you don't get rating for a live game, it's because the game was unrated.

because you might have changed some settings making the game unrated. To change it back, go to https://www.chess.com/play/online and press custom. A menu will pop up and check the "rated" option.
