Find the Houston affiliates and contacts there. You'll either find something listed there or you can contact some of them for suggestions.
Off the top of my head, the Tracy Gee and Trini Mendenhall Community Centers have chess in the afternoons, covering Monday through Wednesday.
There are many, many clubs in the Houston area.
