The way it currently is set up is that most team members have to live in the same city. Not saying they can't modify it however they want but it doesn't fit the main idea they are trying.
Pro Chess League

Yeah I get that for sure. If I don't hear anything in the next day or two I'll look into setting up a Sudbury team, or being a free agent on a Toronto team (where I play pretty much all my tournaments). Just thought it might be interesting to intersperse a few 'different' teams in the league...

Is there somewhere online that explains how the pro chess league works? I see the advertisement which says I should join. But nothing that explains what I'm joining.

@weeverrm, I think 2500 FIDE is the highest average rating for a team. In other words, 2500 FIDE is NOT the the lowest rated a player could be (otherwise how could the team's average rating be under 2500?).
So far it seems somewhat unclear to me (and I think to others as well) whether anyone (e.g., a team of 1500 players) could play, or if there is a minimum rating level for individual players and/or teams.

Here's a proposal for a novelty team, maybe chess.com staff could consider it.
Team: Chess.com Top Bloggers
I'd like to manage a team comprised of 6 of chess.com's top titled bloggers, if they'd be interested...
- Linlaoda
- ih8sens
- TigerLilov
- alexsuper1987
- ChessNetwork
- alexcolovic
I'm sure we could create a strong team that would attract a great deal of attention among the chess.com community. We would blog about our experiences between each week.
Chess.com team, let me know what you think!
