Profile viewing

who views profiles? I don’t unless we play chess and a good game to you. 

It’s not often your profile views match your national rating. Wakey up America!!!

I do view profiles sometimes. Out of curiosity it is in my case.    When I play with them or see a post in a forum or with a chess puzzle.

I mostly visit profiles for the sole reason of reporting a suspected cheater or blocking the person.

I do frequently, but maybe for a different reason than some. I am getting older, and now stink at blitz, so I don't play that at all; so I am not checking up on opponents.

What I do do is comment on bad daily puzzles, and that often elicits questions from people, often weaker players, who ask me things. Well, I do get curious about to whom I am talking. Looking at their profile, I can make sure that I answer in a way that is appropriate for his rating. I might go into more detail, with words especially, about what is going on so I am sure he understands what I am getting at.

Good to be sure, for sure. 

When someone destroys me, then I will look at their profile to try to figure out what their strength is out of curiosity. Often I have look at a profile and their strength appears to be well above their rating.  (Then I feel a lot better about having been devastated). 

Sandbagging is common problem here
