yeah!
Public Backlash On the Club UI

I agree. I had a hard time to look for live matches in one of the clubs to which I belong. Everything is lumped in "past events". Well written, my friend...

Yeah club events are just awful with the new ui, from being harder to make every type of event, to finding every type of event, it's just not functional

There is active work on fixing issues and making changes based on feedback. That said, there is code that's part of the new club design that's actively being used by other things. That code is not part of the old design, so the update won't be removed as I understand it.

I've heard this and that's why I'm not very optimistic, but do you know why this code is dependent on the new ui? Can't it be implemented with the old ui or a separate update?

I feel like any workaround would take a lot of work, but it'd probably be worth it considering how problematic the backlash is, and the potential customers checc.com might lose. I've heard in multiple clubs that @bulletheadbilly close because of the new ui, and I'm sure with the amount of active members, he's not the only camel to have his back broken with this straw.

That's highly unlikely. The development time is better put towards getting the current code to a place where it it works well for the majority of clubs.
As to the specifics, I don't know what exactly was done or how embedded the code is.

I was afraid of this, I don't know how much more the new club ui can be improved, it just seems too fundamentally flawed. In my critique, I listed 10 complaints (with some subsections), and if I am correct, you changed (or at least slightly modified) 7 of my complaints, but it still feels fundamentally worse, even aesthetics aside. It truly feels like scrapping it is the best policy, but these complications are quite annoying

oh ofc cobra loved it lmao
naturally
Practically, his vote doesn't count (cuz cobra saying he loves something usually bolsters the opposite argument) but technically I felt compelled to include it lol.

His consistently bad opinions are part of his brand

What happens in Beta shoulf stay in Beta until you have a worthy upgrade for us
fr, if you're getting mostly negative feedback in beta maybe consider changing your mind about it instead of releasing the update anyway
what's the point of beta if the opinions of the users don't affect anything
Please stop being stubborn actually listen to the community chess.com. I've been keeping track of the backlash on the new ui and it's some of the most backlash I've ever seen about anything on this website in my time here.
First off, there are 5 anti-club ui petition threads that I know of, two with over 100 comments, with the most commented being @BananaPeelEater's thread with 160 posts. Of course, not all of the comments in petition threads are signatures, but almost all of the commenters in all of these threads are against the new ui. And for more evidence, there are countless criticisms (including mine) in several official clubs such as the Beta club, there are two clubs against the new ui (including mine) with around 50 members, and to provide an even more concrete example, my poll showed that of the people who saw my thread, 30 people hate the new ui, 15 simply dislike it, 7 are neutral, two like it, and one loves it. That's a respectable sample size of 55 active members, and the results were resounding. There were more poeple who disliked it then those who were tolerant, liked it, and loved it combined!
I say this to demonstrate just how bad it is, because I don't think the backlash has been put into numbers before now. Peopole really don't like this, and it's a headache for everyone if chess.com doesn't take it back. I'm not particularly hopeful as chess.com has never retracted one of their major changes before (except for removing live, but that was temporary but I don't think even that had as much hate as this) but I'm hoping they listen to the community this time, and whatever changes they were trying to execute with the new UI, they find a way to do in a much smaller way, that keeps the integrity of the old (and far superior design), because this isn't working.
