Can anyone tell me what happens if the “X” is clicked (instead of using the checkmark to submit a move)? Thanks.

“Confirm Move?” : Checkmark (aka tick) = Yes. X (Aka cross) No. The latter cancels your move choice and you get to choose a different move (including a different piece as touch move rules don’t apply).

If you’re asking can your opponent can see if you had selected a piece to move (as they would have done OTB) then no they don’t. Should they be able to see if you were/had cancelled a selection? Interesting question.

If you are playing a friend you can agree with them to enable “request take-back” in the game parameters settings (before the game begins). Otherwise, once the checkmark (aka tick) is pressed your move selection is permanent.

Thanks. You confirmed what I thought about the X. Your answer is appreciated as I was avoiding using it, because I thought it might have meant I was resigning the game. Good to know and I appreciate your take-back suggestions too.
