You can report people here https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new
"Report" button

Thanks for your quick response. Although I still think a report button of some kind on each page or post would be more convenient, this feature will do as well. The player has been reported.

Vardaine: You are absolutely right! The disconnect is troublesome and I have read some "insensitive" comments bordering on, well..hyper insensitive which I will not repeat here.

When your in a hospital bed, you can press a button and a nurse comes. When your on an airplane, you can press a button and a stuwardess comes. When you use the phone, you can get a receptionist. Why can't we press a button and get a mod ??

It's not realy nescessary to get a mod instantly, but a button to automatically report a player would be helpfull and would promote fair play and improve the experience of everyone.
The current report function is pretty well tucked away at the moment and even when you get there, you are heavily discouraged to actually report the offender if you can "solve the issue yourself by blocking the player or disabling chat."

That answers the question, though. Chess.com don't actually want it to be too easy to report a player. After looking at the forums I think I see where they're coming from. People get really pissed off about a whole bunch of tiny things and if the report button is always visible it will be abused.

I have to think that this "oversight" is not unintentional. The volume of inane complaints would overwhelm the moderators.
This is a great idea but people might start abusing it adn reporting people they hate for no good reason. Besides, when someone loses and disconnects, you win regardless.

Would it then be a good idea to do away with the 5 minute waiting time alltogether?
The only times I have seen people disconnect have been to grief me and not a single one has returned. Wouldn't a simple "disconnect = instant loss" solve a lot of problems..?

This is the internet. Connection is not guaranteed. People are sometimes disconnected because of connection issues.
It would be easier for you to just suck it up and move on.
Seriously, why doesn't this site have a "report"-button of any kind?? People keep disconnecting when they have lost, some people have serious attitude problems and swear and curse when you beat them. Some send threatening or offensive messages when you dare to post anything negative on their profile page (currently the only way to "warn" others of said persons behavior).
This otherwise great site realy, realy needs some system to be able to report people. It should then be possible for action to be taken against these people which includes the possibility of them being temporarily or permanently banned.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a nice guy (this is the internet, after all). I am realy surprised there doesn't exist any feature at all to adress this.
