Server Down way too often!

Why is this server down so often? Each and every day when I am in the mood for a game there is this "we are improving the site".

Make sure that 3-fold repetition is a machine draw, otherwier let the site as it is.

If you could remove pop-up "winner of a iPhone" or whatever, too. Who is stupid enough to even read that kind of nonsense?

Where are you seeing that?  Live chess hasn't been offline today at all as far as I'm aware. I've been logged in there for the past 5 hours.

This is the third thread you've made mentioning 3 fold repetition, you'd think you would know it by now.

the server is down at this time. Again. Playing not possible.

I will keep mentioning incorrectness until it is changed. The chess rules says that the game is over when the same position occurs three times in a row.

you apparently will keep incorrectly mentioning the incorrectness.  It is not a draw unless the player claims it, therefore the chess.com site not automatically awarding a draw unless a player claims it is perfectly correct.

Here's a quote from the rules of chess

9.2

The game is drawn upon a correct claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for at least the third time (not necessarily by a repetition of moves):

EDIT:I notice this was already pointed out to you in your other thread on this subject but perhaps repetition will get the message across :-)

hmm ok lets see if your posting on the forum the server is up! Its also been up for the last few hours.

YOU need to click on the draw button if there is a 3 fold repetition. They arent gonna change that its how EVERY SINGLE ONLINE Server works.

finally if your playing for free then well theres a 'price' in ads. NOTHING is free in the world. they have servers to pay for, bandwidth, staff etc

Please focus on the answers that deal with realtiy and not the answers you want.

Just know that when the server is down, they are perfecting the site and making it a more enjoyable experience. I am willing to tolerate a few hours of down time for a better FREE chess experience.

Threefold repetition, I suppose he's now waiting for the draw to be awarded.
