The servers at chess.com have had occasional hickups from time to time. That has not seriously bothered me, a game or so lost every once in a while is not that bad, and to be honest I screw up often enough myself.
However, last week was bad. Yesterday, 3 games with 20-30 secs lost ( in a 1 min game !). Sometimes the "connection interrupted" dialogue pops up - but I do not get any of my time back. Sometimes not, in which case it seems my opponent is not moving and then I have lost or almost lost. In one case, I even had a premove. Did not help.
Today, I start one game, immediately, 20 secs lost. I won anyway, but this is really no good.
I have found that I enjoy either the long or really fast games the most. Now the really fast ones do not work anymore. Is it aknown issue? temporary issue? Will it get better?
Thanks for any replies, perhaps just to let me know I am not the only one with this problem.
P.S.:
Before people respond the usual way: I am in a University network and my download and upload speed ranges from good DSL to really fast. So no, it is not my slow internet connection. Yesterday, I tested it right after the problems occured.
My computer has not undergone major changes, I use linux, and my network is constantly scanned for virusses ( also by myself occasionally ), which are unlikely anyway due to my choice of OS. While I do appreciate help on any issues I might have and not know about, please do not tell me to buy a new computer either. It was working fine before and the system can handle this load. Also, pieces are not moving slowly, they are not moving at all.
