@julianstiebler, We will see, the worst scenario is that nothing happens ... and no action is taken. The whole thing is related to chess.com being unable to deal with these kind of behaviour??? (false accusations punishment I mean, the player who cheats is punished that is ok). The policy that most of you hold, the "laisse faire, laisse passer" is the straight way against yourself and against chess.com. That position does not guard the community, in fact it threatens the community by encouraging anarchy and chaos. As I said, we will see ...

Have you seen the forums?  Its a mess.  Chess.com has no desire to change it.  It is what it is.

@ArtemKozirev, cheating accusations in private don't matter much. If they use abusive language then I'm pretty sure that is not allowed. If they just politely accuse you, then you'll show them they are wrong when you don't get banned. Either way you are winning the argument. To your point of "spitting in your face", imagine if some random stranger just walked up to you and insulted you. They won't get punished or apprehended just for something as petty as that, but you and everyone else know they are wrong so it means nothing.

ArtemKozirev

@Waffleless, making up false accusations is as old as mankind, just turn the pages of the history books and it is full of it, all the main religions also speak out against these making ups, following your example of the random stranger who insults, if this becomes the "usual" at your favourite bar or neighbourhood and everyone is insulting everyone because nothing happens you are defining the kind of bar you like or neighbourhood or comunity of your taste as well as your own values ...

LeiJChess

Well I can see it becoming a problem if it becomes repetitive, which I fortunately did not experience too much for my time here. It isn't good to discourage reporting, since a lot of the time it does catch cheaters, but dealing with individual false accusers are like dealing with people in comments and forums, because you cannot control all of them. If there is a case of very obvious false accusation, then I think it would be appropriate to do something, or for users who repeatedly false reported, but responding to each individual one is impractical.

ArtemKozirev

@Waffleless, acknowledging a problem is the first step to improve, then what is practical or what you can control or not is another kind of discussion which requires for its solution a comprehensive view, know-how and some etcetera from the people who shape this site, not everything in this world is about computer programming or algorithms, like Einstein said "imagination is more important than knowledge". Without a vision there is nowhere to go, giving up to the wrong values without a battle is not in the spirit of Cassia, someone said "Never a game has been won by resigning "

never, EVER premove. I've lost 2 games by accidentally moving pieces.

That doesn't answer his question. He said that opponents accused him of cheating because of doing only removes. He's wondering how to deal with those accusors.

The solution is simple and obvious: Ignore them

If you are cheating, you will get caught eventually.

If you are not cheating, then it doesn't matter.
