sore LOOSER -- a person that has been doing too much LOOSENING ?
sore LOOSERS

What are you, the Rain Man? Does the world really need to grind to a halt every time we see a misspelling on these forums? How childish.
Mocking ignorant people in any and all situations is the best approach because if you don't, you let them think what they're doing is OK and add to the problem. Remember that no one has the right to be here. It's a privilege; as soon as you break simple rules like "never write in all caps" you set yourself up for some punishment.

spell check..losers not loosers
Thanks for your imput rovingeye very thought provoking maybe in india they spell looser your way but I spell it looser as in big looooooooooser .
"Childish...really?"
Very and quite pathetic also.
"If your postings are strewn with bad grammar and misspellings, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that you are either careless or ignorant."
Just as such fussyness on an "informal" discussion board leads one to conclude that you are either inherently rude and lacking in social skills or that you are just not getting any.
How mature.
When I see an egregious spelling or grammar error, that is when I assume the person is either a child who has not learned the rules yet, or an adult who writes like a child who has not learned the rules yet. On an international message board like this, there is also the possibility that the person is writing in a language other than their native tounge. In any of those cases it is appropriate to inform the person about the rule they are neglecting, so that they will be taken seriously in the future when they are in a more formal setting.
I have never had a child correct my grammar. Pointing the errors out is associated more with grumpy old men than with children, I would imagine.
CRShelton, note back to your first post. "Practise" is spelled "Practice." I'm 12 years old and I noticed that. Please research these thoughts before you actually post them.
Reb, that was a funny joke!!! (No Sarcasm Included)

While you wait, you could practise bringing your spelling up to a third grade standard.
When you start the game, you agree to the time constraints. If they aren't to your liking, don't start the game. If your opponent is abusing the vacation time, you can report it.
Or you can waste your time posting stupid complaints in the forum about something that nobody has any control over except for you. Correspondence chess is not a game for the impatient.
I see you are wasting your time with derogitry remarks about spelling thanks for your time . PLUM

I can't believe you actualy sat down and spent time on this for that matter i can't believe i'm responding to something so childish as this who care if your oponet lets the time run out maybe he/she actualy got a life and forgot to sign on for a day or two

well said the guy is probably one of THEM lol

Childish...really? The writings one leaves on Chess.com (or anywhere else on the web, for that matter) are the only things others see about you. If your postings are strewn with bad grammar and misspellings, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that you are either careless or ignorant.
Which one are you?
Did you understand the post ? if yes what is you ranting on aboot lol

I is talking about live chess thanks anyway.

I don't understand these sorts of complaints. Yes, your opponent is stalling mate in one. Your point being? How does this affect you in any way? Does it mean you have to waste time staring at a non-moving chessboard? No. Does it mean you have to tear your hair out with the tension of a coming mate? No. And can't you just move on and play some more games while your opponent kids himself that he's not going to lose? OF COURSE YOU CAN.
Well, thats that matter taken care of.

Out of curiosity, why did you tell chess.com that you were born in 1990 if you were really born in 1997?
Are you lying to me to make yourself look younger, or did you lie on your profile to make yourself look older?

You could use some spelling practiSe.

Stalling sometimes has its reasons, e.g. I have a win in the next move against a guy 500 points better than me, but he's been stalling so that he can qualify for a tournament before his rating nosedives after our match finishes, I found it annoying until he told me the reason and now I agree with him, it's completely understandable.
Having said that, some people do stall unnecessarily which is twatish but there you go... that's people for you. It means I do eventually get around to doing my homework!

A pedant returns: in UK English as opposed to American the verb is "to practise", I am going to practise my endgames. Whereas the noun is "practice" as in I have been doing a lot of chess practice lately. Since he was writing to someone in the UK he was correct in writing practise in his original post
Getting on topic now that I realise we are talking about people letting the clock run out when lost in live chess I can agree that is far more irritating than in turn based since you can't really start another game in case they return.
