Opponent was moving King back and forth from same squares, but I was bring out my knight and keeping King in various checks. Do players try to elicit stalemate by repetitive movement of their piece? Mine were all over the board.

Players often try to get stalemate if they have a lone king. It's easy for the opponent to lose track of the other king's flight squares.
To the HarbingerOfDoom - Agreed that my end game is embarrassingly bad. To nklristic - that explains it...thanks!
It looks like the confusion stems from the fact that your Knight move did not affect the King's available squares.
However, I'm assuming you must have put them in check on the previous turn, and it looks like they were smart enough to move to c3, where the King is completely trapped. One solution is to move one of your Rooks to give him some air, but in this case, it turns out Qb4 would have been checkmate.
How can this be a stalemate?
