Hello......is there a way to start a new game with an opponent from a pre-set positin?

Only in correspondence chess that I'm aware of.  Maybe a hundred common openings you can choose from in "online":

Anyway, that was the idea. Don't know how popular it would be in practice.

If you have such a position in mind, we can just agree to play moves that lead to that position and play on from there, if you want.
