Staunton theme

Hi, I’ve got a stunning set of ebony and boxwood pieces of the Cooke/Staunton design from House of Staunton at home. It seems like the Staunton theme in the app tries to mimic these exact woods. For a simple skin in an app, the color combination between the pieces and the board in the app looks perfect to me!

I was thinking about what type of wood they’re trying to copy for the board in the Staunton theme, so that I could get a physical match at home. I like how the light squares are different enough from the white pieces, and the lack of reddish tones in the dark squares. As the theme has the well-known House of Staunton logo in the H1 square, I think It’s trying to mimic a certain physical board that they’re selling.

The color representations on the pictures at HoS’s website are clearly dependant on the lighting, and I wonder if anyone knows what combination of woods they are trying to replicate in the app. To me it looks like a combination of walnut and maple. Does anyone know this?

Thanks a lot for your helpful reply!

What part of “relevant” and “kind” was too difficult for you? Seems like both to me.
