STUPID computer workout!

Example: The computer says that white can draw with a black bishop against two black pawns and a light bishop. I have no idea how, and when I do best move by computer, it checkmates itself. What the crap? Also, ppl say it does not seem to understand threefold posiiton.

Conclusion: The computer engine is bad and full of errors.

Opp Bs -2Ps? No Problem!

Without knowing the positions, yes white can draw. If you let the computer play white though, it doesn't mean it knows how to go for that draw.

Edit: I mean to say it is possible for white to pull off a draw. In won't be true for all cases of B vs 2P+B

Well what use is the exercise if there is no facit? And there must be a 100% draw chance if the exercise is ANY good.

Sacrifice your bishop for the h pawn (or just use it to stop the h pawn), and put your king on a1. It's an easy draw.

So get your bishop to the b8-h2 diagonal before that pawn gets to h2, and make sure you king is in time to get to a1.

Well, without seeing the position, i can't say if it's a draw or not. I would assume that if the problem says it's a draw, then it's possible in the given position.

I did write down my moves but it wasn't very instructive, the computer just shuffles his bishop.

Start with Bc5, with every 'a pawn' move put your king close to a1, and if the 'h pawn' moves (or your bishop is attacked), you play your bishop a7-b8.

From once you have those positions, just shuffle and take any pawn when it gets to h2.

Yeah Be7 looks good, I was slightly worried about going to the shorter diagonal but it's fine.

OKey. Now I understand the position, thank you! I have had big difficulties in logic thinking lately. However, the problem is still that the stupid computer can´t give me the right moves :S

It's just a test of knowing that you can't win with lsb and a pawn that will promote in a dark corner if the opposition king can get to the corner.

The computer doesn't really play a testing attack though.
